Rutgers freshmen Adam Bergo (Plainfield, N.J.) was the 2009 BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Champion in the high jump and also earned recognition as the Most Outstanding Field Performer at the meet. He cleared a height of 7’2 ½’’ (2.20 meters) in the high jump achieving an NCAA provisional mark, ranking him third in that nation (first among freshman).

How did it feel to win the men’s high jump in your first collegiate championship meet?

“Awesome! It felt good that I got to help the team out in that way. It was great to get the excitement going for the team.”
